ALI HICKS

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ali attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, before spending nearly a decade in Denver, Colorado, where she met her husband. In 2019, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Ali now considers all three places her home. She has a deep love for the mountains, lakes, and desert, feeling privileged to have experienced the beauty of all these landscapes throughout her life.
Ali has worked in radio, book publishing, and editorial roles, serving as an editor in both the magazine and digital spaces. She’s the oldest of two siblings, with one younger brother, and while she used to identify as the typical firstborn, she’s grown into a more fun-loving and relaxed person over the years.
Traveling is one of Ali's greatest passions. She has visited countries including Morocco, Kenya, China, Fiji, Austria, Guatemala, Switzerland, Costa Rica, and Ireland, among others. She loves camping all over the West and Southwest and enjoys hiking, gardening, and reading (she's a member of a book club!). Cooking with her husband and spending quality time with their dog and cat are also some of her favorite activities. Despite living across the country from her childhood friends, Ali works hard to plan trips and reunions, always making time to stay connected with the people who matter most.
Since moving to Albuquerque, Ali has developed a love for green chile, pinon coffee, and a good margarita. She’s also fallen for the city’s incredible food and culture scene, which has an amazing proximity to the mountains, hiking, and skiing—without the crowds of larger cities. The vibrant blue skies and stunning spring flowers of the high desert have made Albuquerque feel like home.
Ali’s passion project kicked off in 2022 when she opened her Etsy shop where she sells vintage treasures she finds while thrifting, focusing on Western and Southwestern decor, glassware, and art, with a touch of Midwest flair.
Ali’s spirit animal is her Bernese Mountain dog, Ada, who fiercely loves her people and tends to underestimate herself. However, once she tries something new, she’s all in—and Ali identifies with this spirit of commitment and wholeheartedness.
Why LINK x LOU®? Ali is drawn to LINK x LOU® for its minimalist, chic design, especially the simple layered chains that perfectly match her style. As someone who is passionate about sustainability and reducing waste, she appreciates how LINK x LOU® focuses on creating high-quality, long-lasting pieces. Ali prefers owning a few meaningful, timeless jewelry pieces over trendy items that quickly lose their appeal.
Fun fact: Ali recently hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim with her husband, dad, and sister-in-law—a challenging but rewarding adventure that will always be a special memory.
